ONE Project, Illingworth Moor, Halifax (aged 16-23)

Thinking of taking a gap year? Do you want to work in your local church & community to deliver real working projects whilst developing your skills, experience & CV? Take a year on with the ONE Programme!

This is a one year fixed term project from 1 September 2017 – 31 August 2018.
Salary: £6561.00 per annum to be uprated in line with the cost of living increase.
Hours of work: on average 15 hrs per week (65 hrs per calendar month)

As part of Illingworth Moor ONE Project in North Halifax you will:
  • Work within a busy church community building to assist the centre Manager and learn new skills.
  • Work alongside the Pioneer Sports Minister to deliver sports sessions throughout Calderdale
  • Work within a heritage site, developing social media and marketing strategies and helping with general visitor contact times.

The ONE Programme has been set up specifically for young people and includes:
  • 4 training weekends to support you in your role
  • developing leadership skills and the chance to earn a Cliff College ‘Certificate in Leadership’
  • an opportunity to be involved in the Methodist Church’s Children and Youth Assembly
  • meeting other young people on the ONE Programme

Pastoral and Community Worker, Gipton Methodist Church, Leeds North & East Circuit

If so, the Leeds North & East Circuit would love to hear from you. They are seeking to appoint a Pastoral and Community Worker for 20 hours per week, based at Gipton Methodist Church, Oak Tree Place, Leeds, LS9 6SX.

Salary: £9,862 per annum, plus 6% pension. Further spine points are available according to experience and qualifications. The appointment will commence on 1st September 2017 and is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. It is a genuine occupational requirement that the postholder is a practising Christian.

An Anglican-Methodist Covenant: Covenant Champions (volunteer positions)

Are you a lay or ordained person in the Church of England or the Methodist Church who longs for both churches to move towards fuller unity in mission, worship, and holiness?

Do you have the enthusiasm, understanding, and commitment to raise the profile of the Covenant and to champion the work currently being done to enable both churches to fulfil their commitments to God and each other?

We are seeking up to six people in each of nine regions from the two churches to be Covenant Champions for a term of up to four years.

You could be one of these in your region and make a significant difference to how both churches live the Covenant. Your commitment would be about ten hours a month.

Expressions of interest are invited from lay and ordained persons in good standing in either the Church of England or the Methodist Church.
